New Cadet Orientation
New Cadet Orientation dates are at the end of August and end of January (as required). This is typically held on the JHU ROTC campus with some events at the UMBC campus. Battalion Dining In
UMBC Army ROTC and the Blue Jay Battalion holds a winter dining in event to celebrate the espirit de corps in the unit and welcome in the end of the semester and winter break.
Spring Awards Banquet
The Spring Awards Banquet is our culminating spring ceremony to recognize cadet accomplishment and celebrate the old and new cadet chain of command.
Commissioning Ceremony
Each spring cadets are commissioned into the United States Army. Families, friends, University Presidents and other distinguished guests take part in the commissioning as well as the ceremonial “First Salute” tradition.
